Using the course

Zero to microGPT is an educational course. The core course (lessons, films, labs and quizzes) is free to use for personal learning. Optional paid extras may be offered. Their price and what they include are shown before you buy.

Accounts

Some features, such as saving progress across devices or the AI tutor, may need an account. Keep your login details safe; you are responsible for what happens under your account. If you are under 13, ask a parent or guardian before creating an account.

The AI tutor

The tutor is an AI system. It can make mistakes, so check its answers against the lesson. Don't use it to generate harmful content, to attack the service, or for purposes unrelated to learning. We may limit or suspend tutor access if it is misused, for example through automated or excessive requests.

Your code

Code you write in the labs runs in your own browser and belongs to you.

Course materials

The lessons, films, widgets and exercises are the course's own work. You may watch, use and share links to them for learning. Please don't republish them as your own.

microgpt.py is by Andrej Karpathy and appears here, with attribution and a link to the original, so learners can study it line by line. This course is independent: it is not affiliated with, or endorsed by, Andrej Karpathy, Andrew Ng, or the organisations they work with.

Acceptable use

Don't try to disrupt the site, get around usage limits, access other people's accounts, or scrape the service at scale.

No warranty

The course is provided "as is". We work hard to keep it accurate, but we don't guarantee that it is error-free or always available. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from using the course.

Changes

We may update these terms, and will change the date at the top when we do. Continuing to use the course after a change means you accept the new terms.
